Grey's Anatomy

 

The doctors on Grey’s Anatomy had a lot of decisions to make in this past episode. While Meredith had to choose between two amazing clinical trials, her sister Lexie had to choose between her father and her disgruntled feelings for his much younger girlfriend. And most importantly, Callie was forced to choose between her severe caffeine addiction and the potential health of her baby!

This past episode, Pretty Young Things, was one of the best ones that I have seen in a while. It reminded me of why I began watching Grey’s in the first place. While the show has gone through a lot of changes during its seven seasons on TV, it has managed to keep my attention from the very beginning.  For a show that is seen as a sappy melodrama, it also has a lot of humor. However, the past few seasons have really dragged on and have been less than thrilling. Usually, my friends and I would end up laughing and/or crying during a single episode.  Most would leave us in tears; however, the past few seasons have definitely been slacking in the humor and tear jerking area.

But there may be hope; this episode left me laughing out loud!  Callie’s severe need for a cup of coffee while on top of a hospital bed, trying to snap a guy’s hip into place left me smiling at the TV; and also hoping that all doctor’s have had their caffeine fix before seeing patients!

And if there weren’t enough emotions running through the hospital, Lexie had to deal with her father’s failing liver and his young, tattooed girlfriend.  Poor Lexie also had to deal with the fact that her boyfriend was having a baby with another woman! When you finally thought McSteamy and Lexie would be back together, the writers decided to confuse and annoy you even more.  Instead it seems a relationship may form between Lexie and Dr. Avery, who by the way, really needs more screen time! 

Next week’s episode looks even more promising, bringing dramatic accidents and patients back to Seattle Grace.
